Conception

Requirements for conference rooms have changed rapidly over the last years. Gone are the days of the pin board and flipchart. Expected today is the harmonious interaction of various presentation media and a high-quality audio performance.

Effective presentations thus require modern conference and media technology. It is not surprising therefore, that „Video conferencing systems“ are playing an increasingly vital role in these requirements. In particular, when a company operating globally wishes to communicate with different sites and plants, it is impossible to imagine a room conception without a video conference.

Key data for optimum room planning

But as is so often the case, even here ideas often diverge from reality. Frequent problems that accompany media conceptions are unfavourable sizes of rooms and heights of ceilings.

They impede the use of state-of-the-art technology. This must be taken into account when creating a concept and equivalent alternatives provided. Important factors are, e.g. viewing distances and image sizes, projection methods and seating arrangements.

Details of a conception

  • What is the room principally used for?
  • How many participants usually occupy the room and how is the furniture arranged?
  • How does this affect the connections (floor boxes)?
  • What system components require integrating?
  • What is the structure of the walls and the floor and how does this affect the audio installations (reverberation times) or video conferencing systems (jitters).
Different room constructions hold many different challenges, e.g. acoustics.
At what height must the screen be suspended so that the last row of participants can see it clearly? We regard the viewing angle and projection form as standard questions.
A result of precise planning.Further examples you find here.

Lighting, dimming and their integration into the control system (Crestron) must be discussed and taken into account when creating the concept.
